Special operating conditions
Technological difficulties in the development of Kashagan, Karachaganak and Tengiz projects:
- Abnormally high reservoir pressure;
- Deep oil and gas reservoirs;
- High content of H2S and other toxic and highly corrosive chemical compounds;
- Highly flammable and explosive environment;
- Critical environmental risks, especially in marine conditions;
- Extreme operating conditions.
Requirements for the equipment used at these projects:
- Proven failure safety;
- Explosion protection and fire safety;
- Use of a wide range of various types of alloys and corrosion-resistant metals.
