IMBC CEO Discusses the Development of Domestic Manufacturing with the Akim of Atyrau Region

As part of a working visit to the Atyrau Region, IMBC Chief Executive Officer Dastan Abishev held a meeting with the Akim of the Atyrau Region, Bolat Akchulakov. The meeting was attended by Meyram Pshembayev, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan, Ardak Zebeshev, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Marat Murziyev, Deputy Akim of the Atyrau Region.

 

The meeting focused on key priorities for the development of Kazakhstan's machine-building industry, including:

  • concluding long-term offtake agreements;
  • strengthening the capabilities of local manufacturers of oil and gas equipment and increasing the share of local content in major industrial projects;
  • promoting the localization of manufacturing;
  • expanding cooperation between major operators and domestic manufacturers;
  • developing a skilled workforce for the industry;
  • establishing a new specialized Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the Atyrau Region focused on attracting international OEM manufacturers to localize production, as well as establishing a testing laboratory accredited to international standards;
  • developing the production of ASTM-grade steel required for the oil and gas industry.

 

Following the meeting, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation aimed at enhancing the industrial potential of the Atyrau Region, promoting the localization of high-tech manufacturing, advancing Kazakhstan's machine-building sector, and expanding the participation of domestic enterprises in the implementation of major investment projects.

 

Following the meeting, the delegation visited the Edil-Oral Private Industrial Zone, which is designated for manufacturing and oilfield service enterprises.
