IMBC CEO Discusses the Development of Domestic Manufacturing with the Akim of Atyrau Region

As part of a working visit to Atyrau Region, a meeting was held with the akim of the region, Bolat Akchulakov.

The meeting was also attended by Meyram Pshembayev, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan, and Ardak Zhebeshev, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

The meeting focused on key priorities for the development of Kazakhstan’s machine-building industry, including:

  • the conclusion of long-term offtake agreements;
  • strengthening the capabilities of local manufacturers of oil and gas equipment and increasing the share of local content in major projects;
  • localization of manufacturing facilities;
  • expanding industrial cooperation between major operators and manufacturers;
  • training a skilled workforce for the industry;
  • establishing a new specialized Special Economic Zone in Atyrau Region aimed at attracting the localization of international OEM manufacturers, as well as creating a testing laboratory accredited in accordance with international standards;
  • developing the production of ASTM-grade steel required for the oil and gas industry.

 

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation aimed at enhancing the industrial potential of Atyrau Region, promoting the localization of high-tech manufacturing, advancing Kazakhstan’s machine-building industry, and expanding the participation of domestic enterprises in the implementation of major investment projects.

 

As part of the visit, the delegation also toured several industrial facilities across Atyrau Region.
