The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan held the Association Board meeting

On July 23, 2025, a meeting of the Association Board was held in Astana under the chairmanship of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Akkenzhenov.
Association Board serves as an important platform for discussing the key directions in the development of oil and gas machine building and the localization of production in Kazakhstan.
Opening speeches were delivered by the Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov and, on behalf of the IMBC founders, by the Chairman of the Board of the PA "Veterans of the Oil and Gas Sector" Uzakbay Karabalin. The Council meeting was attended by the Kazakhstan Society of Petroleum Geologists, the Union of Engineering Companies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as top management of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V., North Caspian Operating Company N.V. and LLP Tengizchevroil. Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the PSA authorized body were also present.
During the meeting, reports were heard from the heads of Tengizchevroil LLP, North Caspian Operating Company N.V. and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. on their current efforts to support in-country value development, including joint work with IMBC.
In his speech, IMBC General Director Dastan Abishev emphasized the importance of strengthening local content in the engineering sector for sustainable and long-term development. The results of the analysis of Operators’ needs were presented, identifying specific niches for involving domestic enterprises. Efforts to provide technical and expert support to local producers to enhance their capacity were also reported. Additionally, updates were given on the localization of international original equipment manufacturers in Kazakhstan and technology transfer initiatives. IMBC’s future plans were outlined in detail.
Participants noted the positive role of IMBC in supporting domestic producers and investors seeking to localize production in Kazakhstan.
As a result of the meeting, recommendations were developed and priority tasks identified to further increase the share of local content in goods procured by major Operators. IMBC will continue to act as a key link between the government, operators, and manufacturers.
