Results of IMBC and KMG PetroChem Joint Cooperation: Developing Domestic Manufacturers and Expanding Supply Chains in the Petrochemical Industry

On May 8, 2026, a delegation from IMBC with KMG PetroChem LLP, visited the production sites of domestic enterprises KazFitting LLP and Profland LLP in the city of Karaganda. The visit marked another stage of systematic joint work between the parties aimed at developing localization and integrating Kazakhstan manufacturers into major petrochemical projects.

Founded in 2013, the KazFitting plant features over 8,000 m² of production space and provides jobs for approximately 70 specialists. The company specializes in manufacturing pressure vessels, tanks, columns, and heat exchange equipment for the oil, gas, and chemical industries. It had previously undergone a comprehensive assessment conducted by IMBC. Based on the results of this assessment, which was prepared and presented to key IMBC stakeholders, including KMG PetroChem LLP, the enterprise was identified as a promising supplier of pressure vessels that meets international requirements.

Concrete practical results have been achieved through the consistent efforts of IMBC and KMG PetroChem: Diaz Diyanov, Chairman of the Executive Board of KMG PetroChem, noted that an order for the supply of columns and pressure vessels for a gas separation plant project has already been placed with the enterprise. Additionally, KMG PetroChem is considering expanding cooperation; the plant's production capacity and technical capabilities are also being studied as part of forming a pool of potential suppliers for a Trunk Pipelines project, signifying a transition from assessment to the actual integration of a local manufacturer into the supply chain.

The visit program also included a tour of the production facility of Profland, a company specializing in the production of cable trays and metal structures. As a result of prior analytical and industrial work by IMBC, the enterprise was included in the pool of potential suppliers for petrochemical projects.

According to General Director Artem Slesarenko, the company was founded in 2007 and has implemented over 100 projects across Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Today, the company employs about 70 people, operates a 2,500 m² production site, processes over 6,500 tons of steel annually, and produces more than 15,000 types of products.

During the visit, representatives from IMBC and KMG PetroChem reviewed the enterprise's technological lines and the possibilities for expanding its product range. The parties also discussed prospects for further production development and the possibility of obtaining international certification according to IEC standards.

Following the visit, the parties confirmed a coordinated position on the further development of cooperation: IMBC will continue to provide expert and methodological support to enterprises in aligning their products with the requirements of major petrochemical project operators, while KMG PetroChem explores opportunities to involve local manufacturers in the implementation of its projects.

Dastan Abishev, General Director of IMBC, noted that current results demonstrate the efficiency of the established interaction between the industrial partner and the international center: “The joint work of IMBC and KMG PetroChem is already ensuring not only the identification of potential suppliers but also their practical involvement in petrochemical industry projects.”

Thus, the cooperation between IMBC and KMG PetroChem forms a sustainable model for developing In-Country Value, ensuring the transition from the analytical assessment of enterprises to the signing of real contracts and long-term industrial partnership.
