IMBC and major oil and gas Operators held Oil and gas machine building Forum in Aktau

On October 10, the Oil and Gas machine building Forum and Operators’ Open Day of Kazakhstan’s largest oil and gas companies took place in the city of Aktau.

 

The event was organized by International center for development of oil and gas machine building   in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, PSA LLP, and the operators of major oil and gas projects – Tengizchevroil LLP, North Caspian Operating Company N.V., Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. , Kalamkas-Khazar Operating (KKO), and Silleno LLP.

 

 

The Forum began with the opening of an exhibition of domestic manufacturers, where samples of equipment and products from Kazakhstani enterprises were presented. Participants and representatives of major oil and gas companies had the opportunity to get acquainted with the equipment and materials used in the country’s oil and gas sector.

 

The Plenary Session of the Forum was opened by the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Koshanov, who in his welcoming speech emphasized the importance of open dialogue between the state and business in ensuring the sustainable development of the energy sector and highlighted the significance of the Forum for the advancement of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry. The session was moderated by Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chairman of the Committee on Ecology and Environmental Management, Edil Zhanbyrshin.

 

Welcoming speeches were also delivered by Akim of the Mangystau Region Nurdaulet Kilybay, Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kudaibergen Arymbek, and Chairman of the Management Board of NC KazMunayGas JSC Askhat Kassenov.

 

Leaders of the major oil and gas Operators – Giancarlo Ruiu (NCOC), Marco Marsili (KPO), William Lacobi (TCO), Alik Aidarbayev (KKO), and Mukhtar Avutbayev (Silleno) presented reports on current initiatives related to local content development and cooperation with Kazakhstani manufacturers.

 

 

In his speech, IMBC General Director Dastan Abishev emphasized the importance of developing the country’s industrial potential and increasing the share of domestic companies in oil and gas project supply chains. He noted that IMBC continues its systematic work to promote in-country value (ICV) and strengthen the position of Kazakhstan’s machine building sector at both national and international levels.

 

“The development of oil and gas machine building is not only a matter of industrial policy but also a path toward building a sustainable economy where Kazakhstani enterprises play a key role in creating added value within the country,” – noted Dastan Abishev.

 

 

The event concluded with the signing of a number of contracts between Operators and domestic companies totaling approximately USD 440 million, opening new opportunities for the development of the national industry.

 

In the second half of the day, B2B meetings with Operators were held, during which participants familiarized themselves with electronic catalogs of oil and gas products used in projects, including technical specifications and requirements for specific items. Specialized procurement sessions were also conducted, where TCO, NCOC, KPO, KKO, and KMG PetroChem presented information on engagement with potential suppliers.

 

The Forum brought together more than 400 participants, including representatives of government agencies, oil and gas companies, industry associations, domestic and international manufacturers, as well as representatives of transnational oil corporations.

 

 

The event reaffirmed IMBC’s status as a key platform for strategic dialogue between government authorities, domestic manufacturers, and major oil and gas Operators in advancing Kazakhstan’s oil and gas machine building industry.
